You can quickly and easily install any .brushset or .procreate file from our website after purchase. All of your files can be accessed by clicking on the Account link in the menu.
Normally, the Procreate installation process is very straightforward. Occasionally, a setting or browser issue can cause your download/installation to fail. Here are a few things to check:
Check that your iPad iOS is up to date. You can find this in Settings > General > Software Update.
Check that your Procreate software is up to date. You can find this in the App Store > Tap your account icon (top right corner) > Scroll down to see if there is an available update.
NOTE: This is especially important to double check if you are purchasing or using our latest Procreate tools. These brushes and stamps utilize settings that are only available in Procreate 5 or later, so they may cause your app to crash if you haven’t updated Procreate in a while. You can find out which version of Procreate you currently have by going to your Procreate Gallery view and tapping the word “Procreate” in the top left corner. It should say “Version 5” or later.
Make sure you are using the Safari browser to access the Tattoo Smart site and download your files.
Ensure that your files are downloading to your iPad locally. You can confirm this setting by going to Settings > Safari > Downloads and selecting “On My iPad.”
Allow cookies and clear your website data on Safari. You can go to Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data.
Do not use Private Mode, a private or incognito browsing window, or a VPN.
Restart your iPad.
Use the fastest internet connection you have access to and give the file plenty of time to download. Some of the larger .brushset files can take up to a few minutes to download depending on your internet connection.
If all of the above solutions have failed, you can contact Team Tattoo Smart to help you troubleshoot by sending an email to support@tattoosmart.com. Please include the specific download or installation error you’re experiencing, and screenshots if possible, to help us quickly resolve the issue.

Our tools can be used on nearly every iPad that supports Procreate. You can find out whether your iPad supports the current version of Procreate by looking at this list.
If you're having trouble logging into the site, you can try the following:
Ensure you're using the correct email. You can try searching your inbox for a recent Tattoo Smart email to confirm the email you used to register your account.
Reset your website data on your iPad. Go to Settings > Safari > Advanced > Website Data > Remove All Website Data.
Email support@tattoosmart.com to request a password reset.
The most common reason for this is a typo in your email when you made your purchase. For example, if you entered your email as “tony.tattoo@gmail.com” at checkout, our site would have sent you an email and then redirected you to immediately download your tools. If your email is actually “tony.tattoos@gmail.com,” when you look for the order confirmation email or try to log in later, your products may not be in your account and/or you can't log in.
Even more confusing, if you accidentally create a second account with a different email address (using Apple Pay, for example), our system will think you are two different people. It won’t add tools you may have purchased before to your new account. Then when you log in, it will look like some of your downloads are missing. Very confusing, we know!
The solution is relatively simple, but does take some detective work on our part. To help us find you in the wires and tubes of the Tattoo Smart website, please send us as much info as you can to help us figure out what’s going on, including:
Your name and any alternate names/spellings you may have used to create an account.
Your email and any alternate email addresses you may have used.
Which tools/products specifically you’re missing.
Which email address/account is the “correct” one you want us to make your primary account.
Email as much of the above info to support@tattoosmart.com.
Thank you for reaching out, and we're happy to help you troubleshoot or answer general questions. You should have received an autoresponse letting you know we got your email.
We'll reply with a (human) response as soon as possible, usually within 24 hours. If you emailed us on the weekend, please allow extra time to hear back from us.
Emails that are not related to topics listed on this page will be marked as priority, so please be sure to double check all of the help info we’ve provided here.
If you're having an issue with downloading or installing, please include a detailed description and/or screenshots of where you're having trouble. Any additional info will help us troubleshoot faster!

Like other software releases or eBooks, many of our most-loved flash and brush sets are titled with a Volume number:
Volume 1: The first installment of a set. Volume 1.2: An update to the Volume 1 version of a set. The update will usually contain 10-15 more designs, and is FREE to anyone who had previously purchased the Volume 1 version. Volume 2: An entirely new set of designs, with no repeated designs from the Volume 1 version.
When we release a Volume 1.2 update, it typically includes 10-15 new designs, plus everything that was previously in Volume 1.
Anyone who purchased Volume 1 gets the Volume 1.2 update for free! You can find it in your account in the Volume 1 product downloads. Look for the .brushset file that ends with "Vol. 1.2."
The Spitshade Set is designed to recreate the aesthetic of traditional spit shaded tattoo flash. It is available for Procreate, version 5 or later. The kit includes natural media brushes and paper texture canvas files in different tea- and coffee-stains and dimensions. We also included specific instructions on how to use the canvas files, and which layers to place your art on.
Thank you for checking out the digital ink palettes on Tattoo Smart! When we developed these palettes in 2018, we used precise color sampling technology to perfectly duplicate the exact color of each pigment on the palette. The palettes are available in .aso/.ace files that can be imported into most major graphics programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, or Clip Studio Paint.
Procreate users: each of the digital palettes also includes a “swatch map” of the pigments included in the palette labeled with their brand and color name. While it’s true that there is a way to import color palettes in Procreate, this feature does not allow the colors to be labeled. Since the primary benefit of using the digital palettes is the ability to digitally design with exactly which pigment you plan to use for the tattoo, you obviously want them to be labeled.
Our suggestion for Procreate users is to import the Swatch Map in your Procreate gallery or save it to your iPad locally. You can place it on a layer in your design, then turn the visibly on/off as you develop your color palette for each tattoo, using the eyedropper tool to select exactly which color you want to use. You can read more about the eyedropper tool in Procreate.
If you want bonus digital design points, or have a selection of colors you use most often, you can follow these instructions to create your own palette in Procreate.
We created the digital color palettes in late 2017/2018. We attempted to include every standard pigment offering at the time, particularly concentrating on the standard favorites/best sellers from each pigment brand. We used precise color sampling technology to perfectly duplicate the exact color of each pigment on the palette. Since this process was so time consuming, and leaning on the feedback from our users that they prefer our natural media brush and stamp set tools, we made the executive decision to spend our time developing other tools in our catalog. As a result, the digital palettes aren’t as updated with newer pigments as they could be. We know, it sucks, and we wish we had a workshop of elves to update the palette every time a brand released a pigment color.
While fully updating the digital palettes is on our long-term development list, we don’t have a planned release date. When we do update them, you’ll be the first to know. The good news is that as soon as that happens, anyone who has purchased the current version of a digital palette will get the updated version for free, along with a few extras we’ve got planned. Stay tuned.
