Designed by David "Izzy" Irizarry of Ink & Dagger Tattoo (@izzytattoo1224)
Izzy, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp and 12 year tattooer, is particularly familiar with the symbols and icons representing the US military, and what they mean to the clients who have collected these tattoos since the earliest days of tattooing in America.
In U.S. Military Vol. 1, Izzy created a flash set of Procreate stamps useful for both walk-in tattoos and custom requests. He included the official emblems and logos for the branches of the U.S. Military. You can quickly find line drawings of the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, and National guard symbols, ready to tattoo straight out of your digital toolkit.
Recognizing the common themes and imagery among the military and memorial tattoos he’s done for clients over the years, Izzy also included a deep catalog of elements to combine for specific requests. Battle crosses, dog tags, cemeteries, and tombstones can be incorporated to memorialize your client’s loved one. Weapons like rifles, rockets, grenades, and cartridges can add be used to commemorate your client’s service in defense or their interest in firearms. Other military symbols like eagles, paratroopers, anchors, and flags can add patriotic variation to custom projects.
Particularly popular amongst black and gray or realism requests, iconic imagery can be used to add depth and background, or in the foreground in negative space, and is used to contextualize the other symbols in the tattoo design. Izzy included silhouettes of that iconic imagery, like 21 gun salutes, raising the flag at Iwo Jima, jungle/desert/cityscapes, the Twin Towers in profile, and military vehicles like tanks, carriers, and helicopters.
He also included other scenic and accessory elements for other styles of tattoos, like frames, skulls, banners, bullet holes, reapers, and skin rips. Given the range of official symbols, commonly requested images, and background/accessory elements, U.S. Military Vol. 1 will quickly become your go-to toolkit for one of the most popular tattoo themes. Very good brush set already used it for a piece the day after I purchased it
This brush set is easy to add in to an existing tattoo or build a custom tattoo with them. It’s all cool cause You can use these brushes in other tattoos or drawings as well
this set has alot of standard useful military tattoo imagery. however i was surprised and happy to see some items i could use in other themes. the explosions, tombstones, etc were a great addition. i kind of thought it would be all military logos. great purchase for military town artists or otherwise!
