Tattoo Smart is thrilled to bring you the newest toolkit in our Procreate collection: The Snake Kit Vol. 1 by Andrew Borisyuk. Unlike flash sets, this complex brush set allows you to apply your foundational knowledge of snake form and movement, saving you time and allowing you to expand the complexity of your designs.
Featuring scale repeater brushes for top-down snakes, belly composition brushes for more coiled layouts, snake heads, and more, this kit will allow you to take the deceptively simple 3D shape of a snake and translate it to a tattoo design in a nearly limitless array of styles and options.
Snakes are a timeless tattoo subject, representing different themes in nearly every major artistic and tattoo style. They can be used as a bold, dramatic element, whether on their own as a minimalist blackwork tattoo or as the main subject of a bodysuit design. Drawing snakes, however, can prove challenging, and their form and movement require advanced compositional knowledge to accurately translate into 2D.
The Snake Kit Vol. 1 includes both repeater brushes and stamp brushes to enable you to create Procreate designs of snakes, from traditional to realistic. Using the body composer brushes, you can draw top-down views of snakes with patterns that could also be used for koi fish, dragons, or other serpents. Follow the body composer tutorial for step-by-step instructions.
While they are seemingly simple - an elongated tube that tapers on one end - snakes present a design challenge in that they have a top and a bottom, and a variable width. Using the belly composer brushes, along with the instructions in the belly composer tutorial, you can visualize how the snake curves in 3D space, keeping its back and belly visually accurate, and creating dimension and foreshortening to make your composition dynamic. Where the Procreate repeater brush capability stops, Andrew has enabled you to add more dynamic coils and twists to your snake bodies with a series of segment stamps. Use them as a foundation to the design or to wrap the serpent around other elements.
To finish your snake design, the kit comes complete with dozens of snake and cobra head stamps, reflecting a range of "emotion" and actions. The faces' angles and perspectives make them easily adaptable to almost any snake drawing, again in a variety of styles.
With dozens of individual components, The Snake Kit Vol. 1 is the ultimate collection for creating realism, illustrative, neo-traditional, or blackwork tattoo designs of this iconic tattoo subject!

I love tattooing snakes and always prefer to draw every single scale. This kit has sped up the process and saved me so much time!! I love how consistent the size of the scales are and the ways this set has helped me improve
Really happy with this set! The scales move pretty well and while you will have some tweaking of scales if you are using a tight coil...This was really well put together and saving me tons of time!
It makes it so easy to shape scales and with a little drawing the heads can be made to be a lot more aggressive looking. Pays for itself very quickly.
Love the scale brushes. Would really like to have more aggressive looking/ more heads. Good investment
